Located 60 miles east of Fort Myers and 60 miles west of West Palm Beach, right in the heart of central Florida on the southern shoreline of Lake Okeechobee, isclewiston_rounded the City of Clewiston.  Hundreds of years ago the Seminole Indians set up fishing camps along the “Big Lake.”  Today, approximately 7,000 residents call Clewiston home.  Plans for the city began to take shape in the 1920s.  Some 10 years later, as the sugar industry became the area’s largest employer, Clewiston was given the nickname “America’s Sweetest Town.” Parks are dotted throughout the community, which also has its own hospital and airport.
